We are searching to fill the open position of Director, Business Development.   Join our team today and be a part of Delivering Goods for the Good of All.

The Director of Business Development will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our transload terminal operations.   

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and Evaluating Potential Transload Terminal Sites:  Collaborating closely with the operations team, you will scout, assess, and select optimal locations for transload terminals, ensuring efficiency and strategic alignment with company objectives
  • Developing and Maintaining Stakeholder Relationships:  Building strong rapport with key stakeholders such as railroads, shippers, and industry associations will be crucial (these relationships will facilitate collaboration, business opportunities, and industry insights)
  • Conducting Market Research:  You will conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, enabling informed decision-making and proactive strategy development
  • Creating and Executing Business Development Strategies: Crafting and implementing robust business development strategies will be central to your role, aimed at maximizing terminal utilization and revenue generation 
  • Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with various internal teams, you will ensure seamless terminal operations and exceptional customer satisfaction through effective communication and collaboration
  • Negotiating Contracts and Pricing Agreements: Leveraging your negotiation skills, you will secure favorable contracts and pricing agreements with customers and partners, driving mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Monitoring Industry Developments and Regulatory Changes:  Staying abreast of industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes impacting transload operations will be essential to inform strategic decisions and maintain compliance 
  • Representing the Company:  You will serve as the company's ambassador at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events, fostering brand visibility and forging valuable connections
  • Providing Regular Reports: Delivering comprehensive reports on business development activities, pipeline progress, and performance metrics will enable data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry
  • Proven track records of successfully closing deals and driving revenue growth
  • Knowledge of railroad operations, transload terminals, and supply chain logistics
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events
  • Self-motivated, results-orientated, and adaptable to changing market dynamics
