Career Heat Treater
Trinity Industries is looking for a Metal Processing Heat Treat technician to join our Jonesboro, AR team! In this position you will be responsible for performing activities related to melting, casting and tempering steel products.
The responsibility of the Heat Treat technician is to control heat treating equipment to harden, temper and/or normalize treated metal surfaces. This is accomplished by adjusting temperature controls, determining temperature and time of heating cycles. You will also be responsible for monitoring the heating process and controlling the cool down process to ensure proper distribution of heat throughout the system. You may use a forklift and/or crane to move materials through the heat treating process. You will be expected to follow all safety rules and practices. You may be involved in safety committees or initiatives as well as performing other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Demonstrated proficiency with monitoring equipment
Understanding of the tempering process
Ability to operate forklift or gantry crane
Ability to perform associated quality tests
Qualifications:
1-2 years of related experience
