Trinity Rail is hiring a Career Material Handler at our Wood River, IL site.

The Career Material Handler position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge.

What you'll do:

  • Expedites the movement of parts and material between warehouse and production areas by lifting or otherwise moving raw materials and/or parts.
  • Prepares and coordinates schedules for pulling and delivering materials to control the flow of goods and regulate production floor space. 
  • Safely operates appropriate equipment (forklifts, hoists, cranes, etc.)  required to move materials along production floor. 
  • Responsibilities may include activities related to shipping of materials or finished goods.
  • Stages and maintains storage of finished goods for scheduling of shipments.  
  • Ensures the security and accountability of materials. 
  • Ensures packaged goods are loaded according to documentation and bills of lading.  
  • Complies with all company safety rules, and procedures.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs as level 2 Material Handler and
  • Monitors parts and material inventory levels 
  • Operates most transport systems in production and yard (including action arm, bobcat and excavator) 
  • Maintains and organizes production floor and storage areas (indoors & outside)

What you'll need:

·         Some previous experience

·         Ability to pass background and physical requirements.

·         Valid Driver’s License
