TrinityRail(R) Maintenance Services hiring a Mobile Repair Technician in Wood River, IL!
What you'll do:
- Conduct railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance
- Perform repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures.
- Meet the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Ensure all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete.
- Actively participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections
- Perform outlined work under supervision of site or crew leader
- Follows all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Understand and complete all basic required on-board training in regard to safety and quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 1.5 years’ experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficient in one or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable
- Basic understanding of how to read engineered drawings
- Any type of Welding/Valve/Mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
- Ability to work within confined spaces and from elevated heights as required to perform work
- Ability to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits
- Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions
- Ability to understand Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules
- Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required
- May be required to mentor/train lower-level technicians
