TrinityRail is hiring a Career Mobile Repair Technician  at our Manly, IA plant.

The Career Mobile Repair Technician position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge.

What you'll do:

  • Conducts railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance.

  • Performs repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures.

  • Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience.

  • Ensures all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete.

  • Has the ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.

  • Actively participates in safety assessments, equipment inspections.

  • Able to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.

  • Follows all safety rules and practices.

  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What you'll need:

  • Meets level 2 requirements and has basic to advance railcar knowledge
  • Advanced skills in reading engineering drawings
  • Capability to tear down and assemble railcar valves and components.
  • Able to do final sign offs on completed work
  • Ability to create complex orders for billing
  • Ability to pass DOT Requirements is a plus
  • Inspects cars and complete BRC
  • Any type of welding/mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is a preferred.
