The Cost Estimating Professional is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and customer quotes in compliance with AAR regulations. This individual sources materials, develops work orders, and maintains repair documentation while collaborating cross-functionally across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
• Review in-bound inspection reports and validate findings.
• Prepare cost estimates and quotes based on customer criteria and procedures while maintaining AAR compliance.
• Source repair parts and materials based on drawing interpretation and customer criteria (research and requisition).
• Review shop instructions and develop comprehensive work orders based on customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain records and documentation pertaining to repairs to include invoices, AAR billing repair cards, and testing documentation.
• Additional technician duties as required.
What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Ability to interface and communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Two years of rail cost estimating experience preferred.
• AAR Codes, standards, and regulation experience required.
• Ability to work across the various functions of the organization and with external partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (M365).
• Experience reading blueprints or engineering models.
• Experience interpreting customer procedures and specifications required.
