Trinity Industries, Inc. is hiring a Distribution Center Director at our Distribution Center in Fort Worth, TX.

As the Distribution Center Director, you will oversee the Distribution Center Operations, impacting the aftermarket parts and components customers' experience by ensuring the fulfillment of orders that meet delivery, quality, and service standards. You will direct warehousing and logistics activities and coordinate all business functions supporting the planning and execution of customer shipments. Additionally, you will ensure that the distribution center operates in a safe, high-quality, and efficient manner, in compliance with legal, environmental, and company standards.
What you'll do:
- Lead the distribution process and coordinates with sales and other business functions to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
- Plan processes, personnel, facility and equipment levels to support business growth plans and sales program initiatives
- Assure a safe workplace and that processed orders meet Trinity quality standards, and drives continuous improvement across all business processes
- Assure that purchased and transferred material is properly received and that vendor discrepancies are identified and worked to closure
- Assure the effective movement of material within the operation and to regional distribution centers, subcontract manufacturers, internal Trinity customers and external customers
- Manage inventories so that stocking items are properly categorized and located, quality maintained and losses minimized.
- Plan and prioritize customer shipments, assuring the efficient picking and processing of orders
- Assure that orders are packaged in a cost-effective manner that avoids product damage during transport through to receipt by the customer
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of logistics services, controls freight costs and assures that freight claims are effectively processed
- Manage an effective workforce, assuring compliance with HR standards and providing effective training and development
- Utilize enterprise (ERP) and warehouse management (WMS) business systems for planning, execution and control of inventories, distribution processes and associated costs
- Assure that the distribution facility and equipment are properly specified and maintained and operated properly to minimize hazards and cost
What you'll bring:
- BS Business or equivalent degree
- 8 years experience in distribution & materials management
- Deep knowledge of ERP/WMS materials & logistics processes
- Adept in effectively engaging with stakeholders at every level of the organization
- Experience working closely with commercial/customer facing-teams
- Experience leading/working in cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of rail industry and railcar products & parts
