Trinity Rail Maintenance Services is hiring an Entry Mobile Repair/Coatings Technician at our Vidor, TX plant.

The Entry Mobile Repair/Coatings Technician position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge.
What you'll do:
- Conducts railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance.
- Performs repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures.
- Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Ensures all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete.
- Has the ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
- Actively participates in safety assessments, equipment inspections.
- Able to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.
- Follows all safety rules and practices.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- Ability to learn basic railcar knowledge.
- Ability to prepare cars for Touch up or for other surface prep work, including masking of areas needed.
- Ability to do Mechanical/Assembly Repairs to railcars.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of how to read Engineering drawings.
- Ability to pass DOT Requirements is a plus.
- Understand and perform all work outlined under Supervision.
- Any type of general labor, construction or manufacturing experience
- Railcar Experience is a plus.
