Equipment Technician

What you'll need:

 • High School graduate or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience as a repair technician in an industrial setting in large steel manufacturing or related field required
• Proficiency in computers and technology to maintain documentation within our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Experience troubleshooting low voltage controls
• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and rebuilding various types of power transfer devices, pumps and gearboxes on production equipment preferred
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred
• Ability to receive detailed instructions and work under close supervision
• Ability to learn job skills, company policies, and processes to do routine tasks
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills required
• May need to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialization
• Ability to use standard approaches and allow higher level technicians to handle more complex issues
• Ability to learn and promote the structured safety culture within TrinityRail Maintenance Services
• Advanced mechanical skills preferred
