Trinity Rail is hiring an Expert Quality Inspector at our Sunray, TX site.

The Expert Quality Inspector position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge.

 

What you’ll do:

·         Utilize inspection tools and/or measuring equipment to ensure compliance to Trinity Industries, Inc. policy and procedures

·         Apply quality processes and tools under the guiding rules of the AAR and FRA

·         Perform nondestructive examination to verify specified dimension, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment. 

·         Conduct compliance examinations to verify specified dimension, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment

·         Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of manufacturing and repair defects  

·         Conduct routine Quality Program compliance audits  

·         Research inspection objectives to facilitate understanding of the program or activity to be inspected  

·         Gather and interpret data for Quality Investigations

·         Research inspection objectives,(literature research, and pertinent Web sites to gather information to facilitate understanding of the program or activity to be inspected)

·         Serves as QA lead trainer

·         Follow all safety rules and practices

·         May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

·         Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment

·         Extensive experience in use of inspection tools and measuring equipment

·         Certified to conduct/approve at least three NDE quality tests

·         Familiarity with appropriate codes and regulations within the rail industry

·         Ability to read drawings and blueprints 

·         Basic knowledge of operational function to be inspected

·         Ability to perform and oversee visual and measured inspections using various measuring instruments and inspection equipment

·         Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
