Trinity Industries is searching for a dynamic Summer 2025 Fleet Engineering Intern at our headquarters in Dallas.
This internship provides a unique opportunity for aspiring engineers to gain hands-on experience and contribute to innovative projects within our compliance fleet engineering team. What you’ll do:
- Assist in addressing engineering challenges and developing solutions for integrating LX with AMS
- Create rebuild kits, valve replacement, and gasket part numbers to automate the Bill of Materials (BOM) from Scope of Work (SOW)
- Introduce a foundational level of automation for BOM generation in compliance fleet engineering projects
- Collaborate with maintenance shops to understand their challenges and propose engineering process enhancements
- Work on fleet engineering projects related to compliance of railcars
- Support various engineering tasks and projects as needed
What you’ll need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Expected graduation in 2025 preferred
- Basic understanding of Bills of Materials and overarching knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in design/manufacturing and CAD software
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and development
