What you'll need:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Industrial)
  • 3-5+ years’ experience of engineering procedures and administration; emphasis on railcar design or other large fabrications is preferred.
  • Demonstrate hands-on mechanical ability
  • Extensive working knowledge of heavy manufacturing process and tooling.
  • Outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal.  Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects of differing scale
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing facility environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute all phases of product design, prototype development, product analysis and manufacturing processes while conforming to applicable regulatory standards and practices.  Knowledge of AAR interchange rules preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing.
  • Prior engineer position with a custom product, freight and/or tank car production or maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of weld process and industry standards.
  • Experience in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor is preferred.
  • Experience with Risk assessment, planning, time standard, visuals and standard work.
