Trinity Industries is searching for a Cybersecurity Architect in Dallas, TX!


The Cybersecurity Architect will act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders to promote a robust security posture.  The successful candidate will cultivate key partner relationships, demonstrate thought leadership, and provide cybersecurity guidance, best practices, and implementation requirements to technology teams within Trinity Industries, Inc.

The successful candidate is an expert on cybersecurity and risk who performs risk assessments for new solutions, and sets standards for assessing existing and legacy systems, and makes recommendations for enhancements where needed. This role will define information security requirements that are aligned with current threat intelligence, industry frameworks (including but not limited to NIST CSF, COBIT, and OWASP and CIS benchmarks), and information security best practices and standards and will require deep technical knowledge in multiple disciplines within the cybersecurity and Information Technology spaces. 

Additionally they will collaborate with leaders across the enterprise to assist with developing and delivering secure solutions, which support business strategies while protecting Trinity Industries, Inc.’s intellectual property, networks, partnerships, customers, and IT services.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with delivery and development teams to perform detailed cybersecurity architectural assessments and provide consultation on security risk for existing and proposed solutions
  • Maintain security strategy plans and roadmaps
  • Influence the planning and execution of IT roadmaps
  • Develop and execute strategies to mature security postures and reduce overall risk levels throughout the enterprise
  • Design cybersecurity control testing processes and procedures to validate continued effectiveness of Cyber Defense Center (CDC) mandated controls
  • Create and maintain cybersecurity configuration standards for Windows, Linux, networking, cloud, service, and infrastructure environments
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to team members with regard to cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and best practices
  • Maintain regular communications with business and security leadership for collaboration, process optimization, tools tuning, and information sharing
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with computer, cloud, application, service, and network security techniques and best practices
  • Stay current with and remain knowledgeable about existing and emerging threats actors and associated tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP)


What you'll need:

  • 12+ years’ experience in Information Technology roles with a focus on cybersecurity architecture design and assessment
  • Proven analytical skills to successfully analyze, model, and present complex risk assessments
  • Proven experience with design and specification of security control technologies such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Network Access Controls (NAC), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), firewalls and other network security controls, Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Cloud Adoption Frameworks (CAF)
  • Strong understanding of information technology, risk management concepts, and analytics
  • Advanced understanding of cybersecurity related frameworks and standards such as COBIT, NIST, OWASP, CIS, ISO, etc.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISSP, ISSAP, CISM, CISA, TOGAF or other relevant certifications
  • Experience securing AWS and Azure using cloud-native tools
  • Experience supporting global organizations in the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
