TrinityRail Maintenance is searching for a Process Improvement Intern in Shell Rock, IA.
This internship provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in process improvement and contribute to impactful projects within our organization. What you’ll do:
- Embed into various teams at the Shell Rock site, including Mechanical (Operations/Production), Training (weld school), and Customer Service (incoming car inspection, estimating/write-up, and administrative)
- Experience the various processes that the team uses first-hand and hands-on
- Make recommendations to site leadership in areas such as communication, planning, time management, etc.
- Develop key skills in data analysis, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and leadership
- Support various process improvement tasks and projects as needed
What you’ll need:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- Interest or demonstrated experience with process analysis, continuous improvement, planning/scheduling, and mechanical aptitude
- Ability and interest to learn welding, as the intern will be embedded in the weld school program
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and development
