Trinity Heads, Inc. is hiring a Production Planning Supervisor at our Navasota plant.
In this position, the Production Planning Supervisor develops and maintains the master production schedule and directs activities involving planning, implementing and controlling movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory and finished goods, from point-of-origin to point-of-consumption. Works closely with management to set priorities and meet safety, quality and production goals. This position will manage non-exempt employees, including Shipping and Receiving personnel, as well as assigning, scheduling and monitoring work, and reviewing results for timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness.
What You'll Do:
- Utilizes knowledge of plant products, manufacturing processes, and personnel capabilities to resolve production flow obstacles on the shop floor
- Manages day to day scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- Manages non-exempt hourly employees
- Responsible for personnel actions (with authority to hire, suspend, lay off, recall, promote and discipline employees)
- Exercises independent judgment
- Trains and develops employees
- Implements and champions process improvements to meet quality and production standards while reducing cost
- Manages shipping and receiving activities and adjusts schedules to obtain on-time delivery
- Engages with Maintenance Partner, Sales and Production teams to support plant operations
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of plant products, manufacturing processes, personnel capabilities, and the ability to use all three to resolve production flow obstacles on the shop floor
- Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of production planning and inventory control in an MRP environment, or the ability to acquire it quickly
- Ability to quickly review data and make decisions
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications
- Ability to enter, maintain, and generate accurate data and reports
- Experience managing non-exempt employees in a manufacturing environment
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with managers, employees, and customers
- Work history emphasizing safety
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer, and able to learn the MRP system quickly
- Minimum 2 years of related supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing industry, such as steel
- Minimum 2 years experience scheduling in a production shop
