Trinity Tank Car is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Production Scheduler in our Longview, TX plant.

What you’ll do:
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and/or monitor the flow of cars coming in and out
- Collaborate with all departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customers' needs. Will need to collaborate with buyers and Corporate when scheduling OEM and Maintenance cars
- Build integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics and outside suppliers
- Focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis
- Collect, compile, and present railcar OEM and maintenance progress and status report daily, or as requested
- Responsible for ensuring inventory & material controls are in place and executed by the plan
- Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the maintenance repair shop for TRMO cars
- Determine car requirements and coordinate the efficient movement of production and engineering
- Creates and distributes shop trackers to the production departments
- Provide Plant Manager daily updates on Units and revenue
- Perform File Review
- Coordinate information and activities with other team members
- May coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customers
- Lead technical and mechanical reviews with Operations, Safety, Welding, Quality to analyze and develop optimal process instructions
- Develop and conduct reports, manage meetings, and support the railcar maintenance
- Collaborate with Lean and Continuous Improvement teams at plants during Kaizen events or Value Stream mapping activities
- Required to provide support during peak fulfillment periods to meet corporate financial targets
- Other duties as assigned
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 yrs. of relevant experience, or combination of education and related experience
- 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferred
- Prior experience working in Logistics, Production Planning or Scheduling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office applications, especially Excel
- Ability to work across the organization's various functions and with external suppliers
