TrinityRail is seeking a motivated, highly skilled, and experienced Production Supervisor at our Shell Rock, IA location.
At TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc., we provide a complete array of railcar maintenance services to rail industries. In this role, the Supervisor at Plant 4036 will provide dedicated leadership and operational oversight for the Interior/Exterior Blast, Linings, and Heavy Assembly functions supporting operation across two physical buildings. This role is critical in maintaining product quality, ensuring safety, and supporting the execution of strategic projects. The supervisor will mentor and coordinate a team of employees, driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What you'll do:
• Oversee daily operations of Interior/Exterior Blast, Linings, and Heavy Assembly in Buildings 3 and 4.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Mentor, coach, and develop a team of 30+ employees, promoting a quality-driven and safety-conscious work environment.
• Coordinate resources and schedules to optimize turnaround time and product quality.
• Lead the execution of strategic initiatives, including new projects, to advance site capabilities and industry leadership in lining technology.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and site leadership to maintain consistency in standards and support organizational growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements to address operational challenges and drive business results.
• Support skill development and readiness for team expansion as business needs evolve.
What you'll need:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production supervisory position in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or similar field desired, but not required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group as well as to perform as a member of the management team
• Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs
• Ability to effectively communicate/interface at all levels, verbal and written
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and team development.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across different functional areas and buildings.
