TrinityRail is searching for a Project Engineer to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
What you’ll do:
- Evaluate Railcar designs and products for compliance with regulatory and contractual standards in terms of material, stability, and performance
- Create new railcar parts and bills of materials for a broad range of uses including OEM new car production, TILX fleet maintenance, TRMO repair, and TRMS aftermarket sales
- Provide technical support to internal/external customers such as Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing departments
- Co-manage Base Car specifications and submit technical data packages to internal/external customers for New Car production orders
- Support TrinityRail Engineering process and workflow improvement initiatives in our Quickbase system
- Lead engineering projects through the creation of scope of works, budgets, and schedules
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, shop liaisons, vendors, and contractors
- 10-15% travel as required domestic or international
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects of differing scale
- Excellent attention to detail such as the ability to find errors in drawings or in tables of data
- Knowledge of railcars, large assemblies, steelwork, and/or welding
- Experience using CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar programs
- Additional Software Experience: Autodesk Vault or CAD PDM, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office
