TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of a 2nd shift Railcar Mobile Equipment Operator/Conductor in our Shell Rock, IA office. Shift hours 2pm-10:30pm.
As a Mobile Equipment Operator at Trinity, you are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of rail cars within a railroad yard, industrial plant or similar location.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate activities of train crews and switch-engine crew
- Manage the makeup or breakup of trains, yard switching, and review train schedules and switching orders
- Interpret train orders, electronic or manual signals, and railroad rules and regulations
- Direct team members to move trail cars to fit planned configurations
- Inspect cars periodically during runs
- Direct and instruct workers in yard activities
- Observe yard traffic to determine track availability
- Set warning signals during emergency stops

- Be present and available for work.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 75 pounds
- Work in extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions
- Basic math skills and ability to read and comprehend work scopes
- Dependable, teachable, mechanically inclined
- Committed to personal safety, quality and productivity
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience preferred
