What You'll Do:

  • Oversee startup operations of new mobile repair units and on-site operations
  • Ensure the delivery of operating plan targets through individual recognition, performance review, people management and reward
  • Work directly with senior leadership in order to develop and implement new business strategies that will enhance the operations of the business
  • Meet with customers to discuss their railcar fleet maintenance needs, establish and maintain direct relationship with customer locations.
  • Organize and oversee training for new staffing within region, including site leaders
  • Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within their area of responsibility
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
  • Participate in interviews of recruited candidates
  • Frequently travel to other MRU locations of responsibility within US

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Must have 10 years of railcar repair experience with a minimum of 5 years leading/managing direct reports
  • Prior mobile repair unit and/or repair shop is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AAR/FRA rules and regulations pertaining to railcar repair/fabrication, maintenance/design, and applicable standards
  • Training and/or knowledge in Hazmat, Welding, Railcar Inspection/Repair, NDE Methodologies, and railcar repair safety
  • Customer-focused, excellent relationship building skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to interface effectively with shop personnel and customers
  • Experienced with Microsoft office applications including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
