What You'll Do:
- Oversee startup operations of new mobile repair units and on-site operations
- Ensure the delivery of operating plan targets through individual recognition, performance review, people management and reward
- Work directly with senior leadership in order to develop and implement new business strategies that will enhance the operations of the business
- Meet with customers to discuss their railcar fleet maintenance needs, establish and maintain direct relationship with customer locations.
- Organize and oversee training for new staffing within region, including site leaders
- Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within their area of responsibility
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
- Participate in interviews of recruited candidates
- Frequently travel to other MRU locations of responsibility within US
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Must have 10 years of railcar repair experience with a minimum of 5 years leading/managing direct reports
- Prior mobile repair unit and/or repair shop is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of AAR/FRA rules and regulations pertaining to railcar repair/fabrication, maintenance/design, and applicable standards
- Training and/or knowledge in Hazmat, Welding, Railcar Inspection/Repair, NDE Methodologies, and railcar repair safety
- Customer-focused, excellent relationship building skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
- Ability to interface effectively with shop personnel and customers
- Experienced with Microsoft office applications including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
