Trinity Industries is searching for a Reliability Engineering Intern in Dallas, Texas.
This internship provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in reliability engineering and contribute to impactful projects within our organization. What you’ll do:
- Compare the reliability performance and establish the “cost of ownership” for various railcar components
- Analyze maintenance and repair history of components from different manufacturers to determine their reliability in specific commodities
- Perform detailed reliability analysis to identify high-performing components and calculate the expected total cost of ownership
- Pull relevant data sets, identify different failure modes, and apply Trinity’s failure criteria
- Conduct reliability assessments and write reports to summarize findings
- Support engineering and portfolio management in making data-driven decisions regarding component selection for our lease fleet
What you’ll need:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Data Science
- Proficient in Excel, SQL, and statistical analysis
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to conduct thorough data analysis and present findings clearly
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and development
