What you'll need:

  • 3 years of experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficient in two or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable
  • A current valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Any type of welding/Valve/mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions
  • Must be able to perform work outlined without direct supervision
  • Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required
  • Advanced skills in reading engineered drawings
  • Experience/Knowledgeable with the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules.
  • Ability to learn how to create and complete BRC
  • Ability to learn how to perform general inspections on railcars
  • Ability to learn how to perform a final inspection of completed work
  • Must meet DOT requirements to operate CMVs less than 26k GVWR
