This is a full-time, on-site Senior NDT Inspector role located in Longview, TX. The PAUT LVL II Or UTSW LII technician will be responsible for conducting performance testing and evaluations of material and equipment using phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) techniques. The technician will also be responsible for producing accurate and detailed reports of the inspection results and identifying areas for improvements, as well as ensuring that all data and information is safely stored and maintained.  The technician will perform hands-on Non-Destructive Testing and Examination (NDT / NDE) method such as Penetrant Testing (PT), Shearwave (UTSW), and / or Phased Array (PAUT) based on the associated skill level; assess the integrity of the item inspected with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications; and report the results to the applicable personnel. Additionally, the technician will support other associated tasks such as job preparation, coordination, and reporting as directed by their lead or supervisor.

·         Level II in PAUT or UTSW with experience in weld inspection, crack sizing and corrosion mapping.

·         Must have experience in the ultrasonic inspection of high attenuation materials.

·         Knowledge of industry specific tests and test equipment.

·         Technical knowledge and skills to be qualified to set up and standardize NDT equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

·         Provide verifiable evidence of previous certification, or completion of ASNT recommended training program for applicable method.

·         Ability to obtain NDT Level II certifications in accordance with TrinityRail’s written practice.

·         The ability to use semi-automated as well as fully automated scanners is desired.

·         Must have knowledge and understanding of welding and welding inspection.

·         Must be well organized, initiative-taking and the ability to lead, train others, and be team and growth focused.

·         Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical specifications and procedures.

·         Good people skills for daily interaction with customers and fellow employees.

·         Demonstrated experience operating advanced UT equipment and analyzing results.

·         Proficient in interpreting codes and standards, such as ASME B31.3, API 650, and AWS D1.1

·         Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

·         Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate reports.

·         Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

·          Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Proficiently utilize inspection tools and/or measuring equipment

Understand and apply quality science and tools

Perform as Welding Inspector Specialist (WIS) level II or Quality Inspection Specialist (QIS) level II or able to achieve in 6 months

Work under the supervision of a Level 2 certified inspector

Follow all safety rules and practices

May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
