TrinityRail is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Technical Training Supervisor in our Shell Rock, IA railcar facility.

What you’ll do:
- Supervise, develop, and deliver classroom training and coaching of the following jobs: Welders, Valve Technicians, Heavy Assemblers, Coatings and Cleaning Rack personnel on procedures required to perform roles assigned to their specific job codes
- Responsible for coaching, leading and developing 3 hourly direct Weld Trainers
- Responsible for plant growth and employee development through implementation of on boarding and technical training as well as coordination and tracking of On the Job Training (OJT) program to ensure the program is providing sustained continuous development to all applicable job codes
- Develop and train OJT Coaches and develop Individual Development Plans (IDP)
- Conduct final Proficiency Performance Evaluations on training and OJT
- Evaluate training effectiveness, modify and enhance training programs based upon needs of the business unit, training center, and individual
- Manage the scheduling, setup, and day to day operations of the Training Academy, specifically Weld School
- Partner with Quality Assurance and Safety Departments to align training activities and performance with regulatory guidelines
- Conducts 1-on-1 feedback session with employees on final day of training
- Establishes and conducts quarterly Training Committee meetings
- Develop a plan for developing and implementing effective Tank Car Coatings training plan
What you’ll need:
- 3+ years of experience in supervising, developing, and delivering industrial manufacturing training programs
- AWS CWI Certification required
- Weld Experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to speak with employees of all levels
- Previous experience building, leading OJT/Training programs in a team environment
- Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints and production drawings and plan cost efficient job instructions that meet quality requirements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; specifically Excel and Word
Preferred:
- Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred
- Rail experience preferred
