Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, plus a minimum of 15 years applicable work experience leading an engineering function
  • Professional Engineer Registration required
  • Master’s degree a plus  


Knowledge & Experience 

  • Engineering leadership experience in the transportation industry; rail industry highly desired
  • Experience developing and executing to a vision and strategic roadmap by leveraging people, process, technology and innovation
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex engineering and automation solutions
  • Experience implementing process management with demonstrated ability to enhance operating efficiency 
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Technical ability to trade-off multiple, complex, interdependent variables and make timely decisions
  • Considered a subject matter expert in the application of materials and components
  • Knowledge and experience in applying Lean and Lean Six Sigma fundamentals 
  • Considerable business acumen including business processes, management, budgeting and operations 
  • Proven experience in product development and project management principles
  • Ability to oversee reliability testing and data/analytics functions to drive enhanced asset management
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable industry regulations
  • Exposure and familiarity with government and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
