TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. is hiring (a/an) Career NDT Tech at our Shell Rock, IA plant.
The Career NDT Tech at Trinity will perform maintenance, modification, and rehabilitation of fabricated metal products and supporting operating systems according to work orders, blueprints, and schematics. They will also test and troubleshoot product operation and make adjustments.
What you'll do:
- Makes visual and measured inspection of products the majority of the time to ensure conformance with standards and determines if product meets all requirements
- May inspect incoming materials, outgoing materials, or products or assemblies throughout the manufacturing process
- May apply singular or multiple inspection processes using various appropriate NDE methods
- Able to maintain, adjust or calibrate inspection equipment
- Completes inspection records and reports
- Familiar with appropriate codes, regulations, applicable procedures & standards
- Follows all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or CI initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned
- For new hires previous work experience and/or certifications may be considered for the corresponding job level position
- Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment
- Basic knowledge of operational function to be inspected
- Ability to achieve appropriate NDE certifications within 6 months
- Proficient in the use of inspection tolls and measuring equipment
- Understands and applies quality science and tools
- Certified to conduct and approve 2 or more NDE method (such as bubble leak, dye penetrant, ultrasound)
What you'll need:
- High School diploma required with 4 or more years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in quality control/assurance in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Previous railroad repair experience is preferred but not required
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement
- Familiarity with Gaging
- Familiar with Root Cause and Corrective Action
- Familiar with Internal Audits and techniques
