Trinity Industries is seeking a Director of Total Rewards & HRIS in our Dallas, TX headquarters. The Director of Total Rewards provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of Total Rewards including Compensation, Benefits (health, welfare, retirement, and wellbeing) and HRIS (Oracle HCM and Taleo). This leader collaborates with other members of the HR Leadership team in the implementation and execution of total rewards programs, supporting the team through the creation of streamlined processes and procedures. 


What you'll do:

  • Lead the design, implementation and administration of total rewards philosophy and framework encompassing all aspects of total compensation, retirement and health and welfare programs; partner with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop compensation and benefits programs to align with business strategy; design programs to attract and retain employees. 
  • Lead the development of the company’s annual merit process, benchmarking, short term and long term incentive programs 
  • Design, implement and routinely assesses the company's benefits competitiveness relative to market and ensures program compliance
  • Manage strategic vendors, aligning vendor offerings with company strategy, cost management and analysis of overall program impact 
  • Lead and participate in due diligence reviews of compensation and benefits plan in mergers and acquisitions as it relates to the total compensation and rewards integration strategy
  • Direct the preparation of communication materials such as program announcement materials, plan booklets, Summary Plan descriptions, Summary of Material Modifications, 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, Incentive Plan materials and other media for communicating new plans; partners with internal communications team
  • Ensure compliance with provisions of state and federal governmental regulations such as FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.; reviews and analyzes changes to state, federal, and international laws pertaining to compensation and benefits, provides necessary or suggested changes to management
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization, automation, and simplification of tools and approaches and develops scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations and streamline core processes
  • Optimize and ensure the Oracle human capital management platform and all associated systems and tools are being leveraged appropriately to drive efficiency

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree/ MBA preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional compensation, benefits and/or HRIS experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience with cross-functional team 
  • Experience working with and presenting to executive leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cultures and organizations; ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Action oriented and adept at working in a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and consultation skills with the ability to partner with and influence people at all levels
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to synthesize and analyze complex data to develop recommendations based on fact and logic
  • Excellent leadership skills including the ability to develop highly organized and motivated teams. 
  • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word skills
  • Demonstrated experience in audit compliance
